It is now December and we barely have enough snow on the ground to even call it snow! Although I am a summer kind of gal... I am looking forward to my new cross country skis once we get enough snow. A little illustration of the fun to come!

Numbers Gone Crazy!

Working on more projects... of course! Here is my numbers series. I wanted to create something very vibrant with alot of detail and patterns. My family might faint if they heard me say I like vibrant colors! If you knew me and my style of clothing, I tend to be very neutral with a lot of black and grey. Did you know grey is my favorite color? ha.

I am starting to make some products as printable pdfs. These will make great gifts like my calendar. Or make your birthday parties more affordable with coordinating invitations, thank you cards and a matching backer than can be used in several ways (think placecards, game pieces or decorations.)

Starry Night, Hold Me Tight - The Song!

How exciting is this?? When we asked Andy Johnson to consider writing music to accompany the text in the Starry Night, Hold Me Tight book, he jumped on it. We are forever grateful for his gift and his magic. Andy has composed and arranged music for many films and theatre productions, worked as an orchestrator alongside the London Symphony Orchestra, taught music at The Royal Academy of Music, and has performed all over the UK.Visit Starry Night, Hold Me Tight website and download the song for free!

Wow, time got away from me again. things have been busy in my life and I SO wish there were more hours in my day so I could get everything accomplished that I want to. So some good news... Custom Alphabet Prints

I am SO excited to show you a special project I just worked on for a mommy-to-be! She wanted a wall of art to coordinate with her soon-to-be baby boy's bedroom decor. Take a look! She promised to send me a picture when the prints are up on the wall. I have be planning on doing this in my office because I love my little animals so, BUT my office is still in shambles since we moved a year ago. I will be getting my office in order during the upcoming winter months once my life isn't so crazy with my Ironman training.

Bears and Chicks

Here were some concepts for a bear and chick illustration that I was working on for a wonderful bride-to -be! We went a different direction but I wanted to post these. I will show you the final (so cute!) but not now. I don't want to spoil anything for their special day. These were just concepts so they aren't colored.

Wow, it has been a while since I have blogged. Well, I have been very busy with more illustration projects which I can't discuss yet. But I will show you a new illustration that I did done over the last few weeks. It was a really fun illustration to do, something a bit different for me.

Just Heavenly!

I thought I would share one more cute thing that I have been working on. I can't tell you anything else but if I have another 24 hours in my day, I would be very happy! This is for a personal project I have been working on whenever I am able to find a spare moment.

Starry Night, Hold Me Tight Book Cover!

I am so excited to see the final jacket flap and the final book for Starry Night. Hold Me Tight. in pdf format. The publisher sent it to me a few days ago to view. I have been excited anyways but once I saw the cute story and my illustrations with the copy typset, I was overjoyed! I am so excited and can't wait to share more with you are the release date comes closer. At least I can show you the jacketflap !!!

What a DOLL!

April Showers...

I know April showers is suppose to be a bad thing but not in this case. Creativity is pouring down on me right now. I just have done some really fun cute sketches that have inspired me. You can check them out on my website under my sketchbook page. They are all just for fun but they sparked something new in me. Actually I have had alot of new things spark inside of me lately. Maybe it is spring but I am just so excited working on my illustrations. I also have been checking out all my favorite Etsy shops and of course that too always gets me going. Oh, I also updated my website again. I wasn't thrilled with my portfolio page when I am on my iPad or my husband's pc. I still haven't done a mobile site but will get to that hopefully soon. There is a learning curve to it so... you know. Ha. Priorities. Like redoing my portfolio pages! Tell me what you think of it.

Thought I would share the cover art for my new and upcoming book, Starry Night, Hold Me Tight. It is written by Jean Sagendorph and illustrated by me! Running Press will publish this title Fall 2011. Updated my Website!

I decided to update my website to help deal with Flash not working on mobile sites (and of course, the awesome iPad!) I was thrilled to see that my portfolio script I used (simpleviewer) updated their script to work on newer technology. I ended up using that on also on my new section showcasing some of my sketches. Let me know what you think! I am now working on a mobile version but learning some scripting and techy stuff. I did choose to use static images for my main image on my home page, which isn't high tech but until I get my mobile site up, at least there is an image rather than the Flash icon. Happy technology!

Oh, and if you are thinking, wow... Kim has done two blogs today, that is unusual. Why, yes it is. But the truth is I am just procrastinating... from working out. Ha!

The Swim Meet Sketch

Just a sketch I did while sitting at my daughter's swim meet over the weekend. I especially like the little sister who is NOT happy. Hee hee.

She got braces...

Yep. My oldest daughter is a total teenager now. Braces and all. So here's to you kiddo. For the next 18-24 months!

I LOVE pencils!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these pencils. I found them in a little shop in Florida and had to have them! They have great sayings on them like "Oh Happy Day", "Life is Tough. I recommend getting a manicure and a really cute helmet", "Goodbye. I'm off to join the circus.", "Live imperfectly with great delight." and "Some things just require cake." LOVE them!
